Well, we could not go for a hike due to heavy rain in the mountains, so we went for a run along the beach instead. Running is just like hiking but faster after all. While running we met red-billed gulls. These are very territorial birds! Two of them decided to try to chase me away from a portion of the path I was running on. It seems they’ve decided to adopt it as their turf and would not share it with 6 foot 3 inches biped. By the time I was halfway through the couple’s turf they were joined by a couple of friends all screaming at me to get away. Luckily I escaped intact and crap free.
Since we saved all that time by “hiking faster”, we went for a winery tour. We of course came back with a more bottles than wineries we visited. Also, Karine had to fall on our collective sword and volunteer to do all the wine tasting (I was the designated driver). I had one very happy girlfriend.
The good news is, by the end of the day, we had reduced the number of bottles to one per winery. Everything is now right with the world and we’ll be having apéro for the next 3 days.
