Day 2 on the trail, day 3 of our trip (I won’t. be repeating this for each logs, hopefully dear reader, you’ll remember to do the substraction). We’re going from the refuge of Ortu di u Piobbu to the Carozzu refuge. It is also the day we remember what the Corsicans mean when they talk about a contour trail: you're going to climb and descend 100m constantly and repeatably, preferably going around several needles and passing from pass to pass. That said, the views will be magnificent.
We cross paths with goats for the first (and last) time. What surprises us is that we have no memory of the second day of the GR20. Although we know that we both did this day, the route itself doesn't come back to us. It was, nevertheless, a challenging day; in fact, we envied the goats we passed at the beginning of the trail.
On day 1, the kind owner of the hotel where we were staying asked us, very seriously, whether we were coming from the mountain or going to the mountain. Fortunately for us, we were going to the mountain, which let us haul our bags up to the room. You have to understand that she fears bed bugs. Today, we have confirmation that she was right to fear that. Indeed, the refuge is closed because there are fleas. The fleas aren't alone; in fact, we're also invaded by ants.
