Last day before our return to Quebec. Only one museum on our list: the Musée d'Orsay. I have to say that seeing Van Gogh up close is marvellous! The emotion, the texture, the beauty of the canvases! We're impressed by the impressionists (no puns intended). What they manage to express with dots and little brush strokes is magnificent. It's surprising what they can do with so much detail in an image!
The bad news for the French, however. After visiting the macaron institutions (Ladurée and Dalloyau), it remains that the pastry shop in Padua wins for the best macarons.
Tomorrow we’re heading home.
