Trip
Corsica 2016
Location
Bruges 🇧🇪
Date
September 8, 2016
In the past 24 hours we discovered:
- Definitely, Bruges has a more inviting air in the sun. It suits it well, in fact.
- Where we think the Bruges’ nightlife happens: the four bars in a small square a bit outside the center. (still the city is really quiet after 10pm)
- There are mosquitoes in Bruges, and, surprisingly, they prefer Karine to PL (shocking really as I’m the mosquitoes magnet on hikes). For a short while, we feared we'd brought back bedbugs, but finally it became clear we had a mosquito problem (phew!).
There are several tall bell towers in Bruges. Hence, taking photos from the top of one still gives a recognizable skyline, unlike taking a picture of Paris from the Eiffel Tower, where you feel like you're photographing any French city...

Several bell towers mean several bell sounds. They play songs rather than simply ringing like at home. We're not sure what time they ring because it never seems to be on the hour... I imagine they must divide up the hours so they don't all start at the same time with their different songs. It seems more there to make music than to give information.
