Everything is still smoky. Anywhere that offers a breathtaking view of anything further than a few hundred meters away remains really irrelevant. In these conditions, we did the only thing we could do: walk around the city.
Iām not sure what I can tell you about Victoria. As we visited the city amid a thick fog (smoke, really), our impressions of it are tainted. Still, we walked the harbour, stopped by Fishermanās Wharf, visited Mile Zero monument on the 40th anniversary of the Terry Fox run and visited the wildlife of Beacon Hill Park. We walked for hours, and still thereās no way to tell whether we liked the city. Itās like the smoke deposited a layer of beige on the city.

If you told us we could not visit Victoria ever again, Iām not sure we would be disappointed. Weāve eaten well here, but thatās about all we can tell you about the city. Iāll blame the US for that.
Tomorrow weāre heading North. With some luck, the smoke will get thinner, and weāll enjoy the sights of Tofino.
