Visiting 2 to 4 vineyard a day for four days did it. Our livers are done. Well... Karine’s liver is done. She’s been doing the heavy lifting by doing all the tastings but mine is supporting hers by quitting too. Good thing we’re off to Victoria tomorrow. Still, drinking, like running, is an endurance sport. We’re leaving with a case full of wine in the trunk of our car. We’ll have to apéro every night until we leave to bring it down to zero. Our liver will be in shape, contrary to the rest of our bodies, by the time we make it back to Quebec City.
We’re leaving with very good memories of Kelowna and its region. The beautiful warm weather after a week in the Rockies’ cold weather had to help our appreciation a little, but the great food, good wine and easy going vibe really won us over. We’ll be adding one more city in the list of cities we would be ready to live in. However, Kelowna will have a little asterisk by its name on the list because, to move here, we’ll need a room dedicated to wine. In 4 days, we visited 13 vineyards (14 if you count turning around at Mission Hill and 15 if you add making it to Osoyoos Larose’s gate - even though they don’t welcome visitors) and managed to buy 6 cases of wine (5 were shipped to Quebec). With more than 200 vineyards in the region we’ll need space for those wines!

Tomorrow we’re going in the land of rainforests and giant trees! See you soon Vancouver Island.
