We headed out to the botanical gardens. Last time we were there it was winter, full of Christmas decorations and very few flowers. This time around it was technically fall; the equinox was on September 23 and if you ask meteorologists fall started September 1. Not sure why we need two distinct beginnings for the seasons but there we are. Anyway, it’s sunny, it’s warm (25°C) and there is not a single Christmas decoration in sight. There are also very very few flowers.

You would expect a 📍botanical garden to have flowers right? I get that botanical comes from the Greek and Latin word for plants and they did have an awful lot of trees but, contrary to Madrid’s gardens they didn’t have much flowers. That didn’t discourage us and thanks to our trained eyes Karine managed to grab two dozen good flower pictures for her collection.

The gardens also provided a diverse vegetation and many many different paths to explore. It made for a pleasant and very relaxing two and a half hours of walking and chilling out. Perfect for a slow vacation day.
